(More customer reviews)This is a great compact umbrella that pretty much performs as it says. It opens fully on pressing the button and when the button is pressed again the canopy collapses to a fairly compact manageable state but, of course, it does not retract fully. You have to roll the canopy tight and then push the extended handle back down to the fully retracted position. One would not expect anything else. Totes is the best brand. I have now bought their larger version of this as the canopy on this little one is not quite as wide as I would have hoped. It is nice to have only a length of "10" to deal with in my briefcase when collapsed but 13+" for a really big canopy was tempting and the price was the same here on Amazon. Note that the data here says this umbrella is 9" but it is not. Measuring it I find that it is 10" including the grip. The larger version, the "Big Top", really is just 13" long, but it is quite thick when rolled up, so still not as portable.
