Mizuno Women's Wave Creation 12 Running Shoe Review

I am loving these sneakers. I have had them for three weeks and have no sign of knee or ankle pain (as was the case with my other sneakers). I am looking forward to loading on the miles.
Design is nice. I don't like flashy shoes and these are border-line for me, but I have grown to like the style.
I wear a 7.5 and had to reorder a size 8 in these. The 7.5 was too small.

The lightweight dynamotion stretch air mesh and synthetic upper of the Wave Creation 12 running shoe from Mizuno helps you accomplish your long-distance running goals. Larger flex grooves maximize energy efficiency during the initial toe-off stages, whereas flex controllers maximize efficiency. Featuring Mizuno Intercool, a full-length midsole ventilation system that reduces heat and humidity build-up inside the shoe, this shoe remains comfortable no matter how long your route is. Plus, Mizuno Wave technology combines cushioning and stability, two distinctly different elements that are both inherently necessary in great running shoes.

Mizuno Men's Wave Nexus 5 Running Shoe Review

Mizuno Men's Wave Nexus 5 Running Shoe
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have owned several pairs of Mizunos this decade. I have NEVER had any problems whatsoever with the design of the shoe. Wearing a pair of Mizunos is like walking on clouds. They're extremely comfortable, and the quality is second to NONE! None of my soles have ever fallen off, they have never torn, or ripped. The arch support is unbeatable.
The only reason I keep buying new pairs every few years is that the old ones are just way too dirty to wear in public anymore. The biggest flaw they have is that the shoe doesn't wash clean in the washer like other shoes I've owned in the past. The dirt seems to stain the fabric in them and once they're dirty they won't ever be white again. I have tried other products to get them clean, but nothing has worked. Just as well, Mizuno has earned their money with a flawless design. I will continue buying Mizunos as long as they continue giving me a quality, comfortable product!

Saucony ProGrid Kinvara Running Shoe Review

Saucony ProGrid Kinvara Running Shoe
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Complete minimalist shoes are only good for short runs or races as they'll fall apart during heavy training. Overly-padded and structured shoes like Asics' Nimbus make you feel like you're wearing platform shoes & your feet are on lock-down. Saucony's Kinvara strikes the perfect balance.
If you're a Chi, POSE or minimalist runner, the Kinvara will provide enough protection from the elements, a flexible sole & a barely noticeable heel rise (4mm) such that striking mid-foot is easy to do w/o scraping your heels. I can actually feel the work-out on my calves as I do when I run in my bare feet.
We often hear, 'fits like a glove'. That's only a good thing if the material is as 'flexible as a glove'. Nike's Frees fit very tightly, but my toes can't get a break. Fortunately, the Kinvara's toe box is very flexible such that my toes aren't bound together whilst pounding the pavement. They're free to expand & breathe. The shoe is snug, but it expands very easily. As it should be.
Kinvara is quite reasonably priced. Minimal-ish shoes should be less expensive than those shored up with bells & whistles. Shoe-makers like Newton simply gouge us because they didn't have much competition in this market. Using similar materials, but shaping them differently shouldn't add to cost, particularly if less material is being used. Vibram's Five Fingers are a prime example of price gouging based on niche market, not cost to produce or value. Gloves with rubber bottoms shouldn't cost $85, especially as you can't put much mileage on them.
CONS? I got two of them. For a minimalist shoe, the arch is a bit too pronounced for me. Of course, I have flat feet, so it probably won't be too intrusive for most. Secondly, unlike the inner part of the sole (under the arch), which is flat, the outer sole sort of swoops upwards which makes it wear down a bit faster than the inner part. It looks good, but I wish the sole & arch were both more 'neutral'. However, the Kinvara is still at the head of the class when taking into account minimalist features (weight, nearly flat heel rise, toe & sole flexibility, airy) coupled w/ durability of a trainer.
As for aesthetics, the Kinvara is a unique looking shoe, but not as ghastly as most Asics and not as oddball as some minimalist shoes.
I feel comfortable running long distances in this shoe. I am using Kinvaras to train for & run in the LA Marathon. It's light enough to race in, but substantial enough to train in, even for a 6', 200lb man like me. That's not easy to come by.

Mizuno Men's Wave Creation 12 Running Shoe Review

With a marathon a few weeks away and after logging over 500 miles on my Wave Creation 11's I decided it was time to break down and buy the Wave Creation 12's. I still had a couple long runs left and thought I'd have plenty of time to break them in comfortably. My first run on the shoes was a quick 4 mile route followed by a 15 miler the next day. After those two days of running the shoes felt ok, a little stiffer and heavier than the 11's. I mentioned to my wife/running partner that the shoe felt like it was rubbing my outside right ankle bone but thought the shoes breaking in or my feet adjusting to the shoes. My next run was a 5 mile hill workout and the rubbing on the ankle started to become a big distraction and discomfort. I kept thinking this was just part of the breaking in period but didn't remember any discomfort with the Wave Creation 11 when I first bought them. In fact the 11's came out of the box ready to go - the most comfortable running shoes I've owned. Today I tried to run 6 miles in the 12's but gave up after the first half mile, came home, put the 11's back on and ran in complete comfort with no pain. I tried lacing the shoes differently and working the side of the shoe to relieve the rubbing on my ankle but nothing worked. I took them back to Fleet Feet and was refunded without any problem. I was told by the Fleet Feet employee that they have had a lot of similar complaints with the Wave Creation 12. I don't know why shoe companies change good shoes every year because I would buy the Wave Creation 11 again. For me the Wave Creation 12 is not an improvement from the 11, heavier, stiffer, uncomfortable, and not worth $140. I'll be running this race in my old 11's.

adidas Women's Galaxy Running Shoe Review

I ordered the last pair of these in the black. I have a hard time finding shoes that fit and are comfortable. I love these shoes. I got back on Amazon 2 days after getting my black ones, and ordered the white pair as well. They were an awsome price at only $40 with tax. My plantar fasciitis doesn't hurt hardly at all when I wear these shoes and afterwards either. One great shoe!

Mizuno Men's Wave Rider 14 Running Shoe Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Just got these shoes and they are wonderful. Having been a long time NB guy, 991, 992 & 993, I finally opted for a change. The shoe is very reminiscent of the Asics Gel DS, in form and weight. The first notable item to mention is that they are form fitting. Secondly and most important to me, they feel right. They fit snug on the foot and as if they are part of the foot. That is important to me when running. I want to know that they're there but at the same time I do not want them to be there. The weight is a huge upside. Overall they are a great bargain for the ever escaping $ in our pockets. After a few weeks in them I will be happy to report back on the roads reaction to my new blacktop sharks.

adidas Women's Marathon 10 Running Shoe Review

adidas Women's Marathon 10 Running Shoe
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These shoes are the best running shoes I've owned. I can run further than I have in a long time without stopping and they are very light, but still give great support. I was worried that there wouldn't be enough cushion because the balls of my feet usually get fatigued quickly, but these cause no fatigue. I bought the black/white/hot pink ones and I like them even better in person than in the picture.

These shoes are very comfortable and lightweight, perfect for running. It feels like you're not even wearing the shoes. I really liked the black style so I ordered them. You may want to order a size larger as you normally should with running sneakers. I normally wear a size 14 so I got these in a size 15 and they fit perfectly. I was lucky they had such a nice style in my huge size. I'm very pleased.

I've had other Asics shoes before and liked them well enough, but this pair was very disappointing. They run large, so consider ordering a half size smaller than usual. I found the shoe stiff and uncomfortable and returned it immediately. Thanks to Amazon for a great return policy!

Mizuno Men's Wave Inspire 7 Running Shoe Review

Mizuno Men's Wave Inspire 7 Running Shoe
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been running in the Mizuno Wave Inspire for several years, probably been through about a dozen pairs. I just bought the Wave Inspire 7 and what a huge disappointment. I hate the new redesign. The new higher cut makes this shoe feel more like a hiking boot than a running shoe. In fact, the right shoe rubs against my right ankle bone so badly that I simply can't use it. My right ankle bone throbs after a few miles in this shoe. So, even if you have been using the Wave Inspire for years (or perhaps especially if you have been using them for years) make sure and try these shoes out very carefully before you purchase. Unfortunately I didn't, so I spent over $100 on a pair of shoes that will soon be donated to the used-clothing store.
